I built a 44V (nominal), 24 Ah battery for my electric scooter out of 18650-style batteries. I used 96 Panasonic 30Q batteries, which provide 15 amps continuous and 3000 mAh. I spot welded the nickel strip to the batteries with my DIY spot welder. I used .15mm thick pure nickel and doubled the strips on top of each other.
The pictures were taken halfway through the spot welding process.
